O Donald, you sly dog

Donald Rumsfeld eating a live chicken

I’ve heard the question posed on TV, “What now for Donald Rumsfeld?” The answer coming from me is, “Nothin.” Nothin at all. He will suffer no consequences for the “s***storm,” as the sargeant at arms put so brilliantly, goin down in Iraq at the moment. I would like to give Ross Brazzale credit for this entry as well. Today we had a lengthy discussion about how many men in power right now, as well as Rumsfeld, deserve public castration but will probably only suffer minor to severe sunburn from their retirement to warm, sandy beaches. After Bush leaves office, through impeachment (i can dream can’t I?) or otherwise, that’s it. He won’t be held liable for anything. He can just…chill. With a hefty pension check from the government I might add (not that he needs it).

Although voting in a democratic majority is a step in the left direction, i feel that our nation has made too many steps in the wrong direction already. Headlines across the country proclaim that while the democrats now have power, this power comes with a responsibility. This responsibility includes but is not limited to, the Iraqi war, the ridiculously large national debt, heavy oil dependence, pretty much everything republicans screwed up while in power. I would also like to add to the list of responsibilities “preventing Bush from f***in up any more” than he already has. This, to me, is rather unjust. I can just see Republican supporters pointing the finger when a plan for withdrawal from Iraq goes even slightly awry. WELL WHO STARTED THE WAR?! Not this guy! And if you reply “the terrorists” my head will explode. Hopefully of course the Democratic Congress will pull us through in shining colors. All I’m saying is, let’s not forget who’s mess they’re cleaning up. Also, I would like to see more stringent punishment for sending a nation to war under false pretenses. Warm, sandy beaches just won’t cut it.

Man on the Streets

It’s a Good Day

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Today is a great day to be a Democrat and a terrible day to be a Republican.? “I feel like the American people finally got it their way” Howard Dean.? Two great things happened today and I would like to take a minute to talk about them.

First,? it came out today that the American people finally gained some common sense and the Democratic Party gained a majority in the House and, pending a recount in Virginia, the Senate.? This is the first time in twelve years that this has happened and maybe now the Republican Party will take a step down off of their high horse and realize that this is? a government by the people and for the people and the people have decided to fly the bird to the Republican Party.

Second, Donald Rumsfield, President Bush’s Secretary of Idiocy (Defense),? announced? his? resignation from his position today.? ? If the? land of Oz were a real place, all of the little munchkins would be? running around singing “Ding Dong the Witch,? B****, A**H***, C***S***er, and most of all Dick is dead!!!!” I would just like to say that it is about time and we should take? every opportunity possible? to make fun of him.? He did not do his job, he lied to the? American people,? and he got us into? that proverbial? s*** storm that is Iraq.? Thank God he is gone!

Congaratulations everyone and remember that we did this.? It is because of every Democrat and a few particularly moronic Republicans that we have accomplished something great.

From the brilliant mind of Mike Kean, your? friendly and ecstatically happy Sargeant at Arms.
