I Love New Jersey
I knew there was a reason why I have always loved the Garden State.? That reason became blatantly clear last week when the New Jersey Supreme Court ruled that denying gays the right to civil unions violated the New Jersey Contitution.? I think I speak for all of us when I say HELL YES NEW JERSEY.
By ruling in favor of civil unions, the New Jersey Supreme Court leaves the state legislatue with no choice but to act.? One way or another, homosexuals will have the right to civil unions in the state of New Jersey very soon.? The judges of that court deserve applause for reading the constitiution accurately and not allowing any personal bias to act on their ruling.
Now I would like to ask why allowing gays to get married would be such a big deal.? People are always claiming that? gay? mariiage? would destroy the sanctity of marriage.? Personally I think? the fact that? half of all American marriages end in divorce desanctifies marriage enough.? How will? allowing two? men? or two? women to marry do any more damage than what has already been done?? Also,? if people? do not want them to marry, why not legalize civil unions nationally?? ? There is no way that it would hurt any non-gays to allow homosexuals the same priveleges that all other Americans receive.? Just once I wish that? all Americans would act as the New Jersey Supreme Court has acted and put aside all? homophobia and allow others to live as they want to live? in freedom.
